By using Board Game Check, on the web or in our apps, you agree to these terms. If you don't, please don't use it.

Your account

You must be 13 or older. Keep your sign-in to yourself; you're responsible for what happens on your account. You can delete it any time in Settings.

Be decent: no objectionable content

We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive members. Don't post anything that is hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, illegal, or someone else's private information, and don't spam or impersonate anyone. This covers posts (including pictures and links), comments, reviews, your name, bio and pronouns.

Use Report on a post, comment or profile to tell us, and Block to stop seeing a member. We review reports promptly, usually within 24 hours, remove what breaks these rules, and remove members who post it.

What you post

You keep ownership of what you write. You give us permission to show it on Board Game Check and in our apps for as long as it's up. Rankings are worked out from everyone's ratings and can't be bought.

Supporter membership

Supporter is an optional paid membership, monthly or yearly, that renews automatically until you cancel. Everything free stays free.

• Bought on the website: billed through Stripe. Cancel any time from the Supporter page.
• Bought in our app: billed to your Apple Account or Google Play account, and renewed automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Refunds for app purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their rules. If you bought in the iPhone app, Apple's standard licence agreement for apps applies alongside these terms.
• Either way, cancelling keeps your extras until the end of the period you've paid for, and a membership bought in one place works everywhere you sign in.

Venues and events

Game stores, cafés, clubs and libraries in the United States can apply to list events. We check each venue before it goes live. If you list a venue, you agree that:

• you're authorised to act for it, and its details are accurate and kept up to date;
• every event is real, legal, open to the public and described honestly, including its price;
• no events that are adult-only in nature, involve gambling for money, or sell anything that is age-restricted;
• people who say they're going are only ever shown to you as a number, and you won't try to find out who they are through us;
• we may remove events, or suspend a venue, that break these rules, and remove venues that stay inactive.

Listing is free, up to 4 events a month. Store Pro is an optional plan for venues, bought on our website, billed through Stripe monthly or yearly and renewed automatically until the owner cancels from the venue's billing page. Cancelling keeps Pro until the end of the paid period; we don't refund part-periods unless the law requires it. Featured placement is always labelled and only appears among events. It never affects rankings, scores or suggestions.

Events are run by the venues, not by us. Tickets, payments and anything that happens at an event are between you and the venue.

Changes and ending

We may change these terms, and will say so on the site when we do. We may suspend accounts that break them.

The site is provided as is; we do our best to keep it accurate and running but can't promise it always will be.
